Publisher 3 Emme Games is currently running a Kickstarter campaign for Momiji, a 1 - 4 player game designed by authors Dario Massarenti and Francesco Testini. Featuring some truly breathtakingly artwork courtesy of Apolline Etienne, the game revolves around collecting leaves from the royal Imperial garden in order to fulfil objectives. Players start the game with a hand of six leaf cards and three landscape card which when combined form a seamless panorama. On your turn you have the option of performing one of the three main actions: collecting leaf cards from the central display, playing said cards from their hand or paying three acorn tokens in order to activate a particular objective. When the leaf deck is depleted or a certain number of piles are closed with a Torii symbol amongst all participating players the game ends. The solo mode is played using mostly the same rules as in the multiplayer version with some minor alterations in regard to which leaf cards or tiles to acquire. The current version of the rulebook mentions “Scenario 1..”, possibly alluding to more solitaire content in the foreseeable future.
