Publisher Starling Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign seeking funds for two new expansions to Everdell, the popular game of woodland critters and worker placement designed by James A. Wilson. Everdell: Mistwood is a brand new expansion geared towards solitaire and two player games which introduces a more dynamic automated opponent as described by the publisher:

“Now while playing Everdell, you can pit your wits against Nightweave, our newest automated player for solitaire and two-player games. Nightweave is designed to function like a real player at your table: she has her own hand of cards, Prepares for Seasons on her own schedule, and, most importantly, she has her own agenda!

Nightweave has her own Big Critter meeple along with 8 spider meeples (not just 6!) that will move about the board to do her bidding -- blocking exclusive Locations, taking events away before you can get them, and even enacting Plots and Plans that will interfere with your options as a player, reminiscent of the Weather cards from Spirecrest. She has eight different personalities that influence what she targets and focuses on, so there's lots of variety in gameplay!”

In addition to Everdell: Mistwood, the ongoing Kickstarter campaign also features the Newleaf expansion as well as the option to pledge for the complete collector’s edition marking the grand finale of this beloved franchise.
