Take on the Role of Elite Guardians of the Galaxy in the Tactical Dexterity Game Phantom Division
If there ever was a board game that I would love to cross off my bucket-list it would be Seal Team Flix, the cooperative dexterity flicking game designed by Pete Ruth and Mark Thomas. Published by WizKids in 2018, the game allowed up to four players to take on the role of Navy Seals’ operators as they embarked on dangerous missions to extract hostages or take out terrorist cells by flicking discs and taking names. Since its release there has been whispers in the night of a new, revamped version and now news are starting to trickle down as publisher Elzra Games has unveiled Phantom Division. Pete Ruth and Mark Thomas has reunited to bring this science-fiction themed version of their 1 - 4 player game to fruition, albeit with some new improvements and tweaks to the core formula. Unlike the cardboard maps in Seal Team Flix, Phantom Division will instead take a page from publisher Chip Theory Games by including neoprene playmats for a smoother flicking experience. In addition, the rules will receive an overhaul so as to make the game more streamlined than its special forces predecessor.
At the time of writing there is currently no solid information as to a release date or Phantom Division is heading to Kickstarter or straight to retail. table for ONE will update this news article as information becomes readily available.
