One of my absolute favourite solitaire games is unquestionably Nemo’s War, specifically the second edition designed by Chris Taylor. Originally published in 2017 by Victory Point Games, the game revolves around the adventures of captain Nemo and his ship the Nautilus where the underlying motivation affects how different elements of the game is scored. Playing as a version of Nemo who hungers for conquest rewards aggressive actions like sinking imperial ships on the seven seas, whereas a Scientific motif instead has you focusing on upgrading your submarine with new and fantastic machinery. Since its release the game has received a number of small expansions and now the time has come to end the successful saga as Victory Point Games is running a Kickstarter campaign for the appropriately titled Journey’s End expansion. In addition to new content in the form of crew members and finale cards the expansion also features not one but two new rules documents aimed to streamline the learning and playing experience.

At the time of writing the Kickstarter campaign for the Journey’s End expansion to Nemo’s War has eight days to go with an estimated fulfilment in December of 2021.
